Our Farm

Guard Llamas (3) - to protect our alpacas from predators such as coyotes and wolves. Luckily, we have never had any problems with these predators and have never even seen them on our farm, but we know they inhabit the surrounds.

|
Guinea hens (24 at last count) - help rid our pastures of ticks, slugs, and other undesirable visitors.
|

Barn Cats (2) - mouse patrol, of course.
|
Golden Retrievers (2) - because every good farm needs some good dogs.
|
ANIMAL QUARTERS:
Our lucky alpacas live in a beautiful new custom-built barn. Currently, we have 4 large pens. The males are on one side of the barn and the girls and weanlings are on the other side. Some of the barn's features include automatic heated water cups, heated vet/birthing room, 10' overhangs for shade in the summer and ample hay storage in the loft above.
Other buildings include a guinea coop, dog kennel, and of course, the human barn (our gambrel-style house).
OUR PASTURES:
Our pastures are lush and green. The animals seem to enjoy them so much we're often tempted to nibble on some of the grass ourselves. We also have some gently sloping hills that the alpacas and llamas love to run up and down.
We've divided our animal barn, and therefore, pastures into a male side and female side. We currently have two large female pastures and two large male pastures. We have the room to further subdivide the pastures as the need arises.
